Open University Qualifications

News posted: 26-09-2008

5 Year 13 Hulme students are celebrating recent success with the Open University this Autumn. Daniel Anson-Jones, Dominic Crowley, Catherine Mason, Emma Washington and Jack Williams have each passed a short-course Open University module, worth 10 credits towards an OU degree. They all studied independently in their spare time, from February to July, with support online from OU tutors. Between them, their topics were chosen from the life sciences, geography and the humanities and their assessments ranged from assignments to tests. All the students agree that this opportunity to study at undergraduate level whilst still at school has given them greater independence in managing their own learning and improved their study skills. They all feel that this experience should impress admissions tutors at the universities they are now busy applying to and will certainly give them a head-start in higher education. We wish them all every success with their UCAS applications.
