Extra Curricular
Whilst Hulme Court is an academic school, the boys are given many opportunities to explore interests and venues outside school hours. Clubs cater for differing tastes; junior football; junior senior cricket; swimming club; table tennis; cross country and athletics for the sports men: speech and drama plus chess for the less energetic. The musical groups are also very popular; orchestra, windband, recorder groups and brass group.
Hulme Court prides itself on the many and varied educational visits undertaken. In recent years the list of places visited includes various theatres, the Jorvik and Archaeological Resource Centre in York, the Deva Experience and Cathedral in Chester, the National Coal Mining Museum in Wakefield; Abbey House Museum, Kirkstall Abbey and the Royal Armouries in Leeds, the Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port; Historic Warships in Birkenhead; the Museum of Science and Technology as well as the Egyptology Museum in Manchester, Magna in Rotherham, the Greater Manchester Police Helicopter and police dogs, Chester Zoo, Crucial Crew and the fire station.
For more than a decade Hulme Court boys have looked forward to their chance to visit mid-Wales on the Arthog outdoor pursuit week. Years 5 and 6 can visit the LEA Outdoor Education Centre in Arthog. The seven days of outdoor adventures - rock climbing, kayaks, orienteering and may more takes the word 'education' into a new dimension; one which lasts in the memory for a lifetime.
At Hulme Court we believe that our classrooms are only the starting points for character building and learning. The boys develop interests and confidence through extra curricular activities which are extensive and exciting.
