Peer Mentoring goes from strength to strength

News posted: 17-06-2009

Miss Abigail Danson joins Mrs Dawn Wheldrick this year to continue and develop the wonderful work of the very successful Peer Mentor team. Currently, the Peer Mentors are trying to organise a conference for secondary schools in Oldham to attend entitled “Are you a listening school?” The aim of the conference will be for delegates attending the conference to return to their own schools and set up Peer Mentor schemes, thereby spreading the message that bullying cannot be tolerated.

Here at Hulme we have a very keen group of Year 7 girls who have been recruited solely to market the Peer Mentor scheme and spread the ethos of Zero Tolerance to bullying at Hulme. Known as the Hulme Anti Bullying Ambassadors, or HABAs, part of their itinery will include making a DVD called “No Bullying at Hulme” so watch this space!
