Bursary Fund
With the abolition of the Assisted Places scheme by the present government in 1997, schools like ours have encountered difficulties in maintaining a social mix within their pupil population and also in offering education to academically gifted children regardless of their parent's ability to pay full fees.
In response to this problem, the school runs a bursary scheme whereby a number of bursaries are awarded annually to pupils entering the main schools at 11.
The Bursary Fund has been set up to support the current scheme and generous donations from Alumni and friends of the school help us to educate those children who otherwise would not be able to attend the Oldham Hulme Grammar Schools and provides us with the existing enviable mix of pupils.
Making a Donation
The school is always grateful for any donations made. Anyone wishing to donate money to the schools has a selection of funds to choose from. These are
- Bursaries
- Capital Projects
- At the Schools Discretion
Please remember that if you are a tax payer, by signing a Gift Aid Declaration Certificate we can reclaim tax on all the gifts made under the Gift Aid Scheme. This means that every £1 you donate is worth £1.28 to the school.
If you would like to make a donation to the Schools, please download the form below, complete and return to the Development Office.
