Extra Curricular
The academic curriculum is only part of the education on offer at Estcourt and there are many opportunities to develop individual skills, talents and interest outside the classroom. In addition to class music lessons, in which all girls learn a recorder and are encouraged to sing, individual music lessons are available in a wide range of instruments.
With regards Physical Education, regular fixtures are held against local schools and the girls regularly take part in Association of Junior Independent Schools' swimming, netball rallies, cross country, hockey, athletics and rounders tournaments. A list of all forthcoming fixtures can be found on the sports page.
The lunch hour is always a busy time and for those who wish to take part in organised activities there is a wide range including computer activities, hockey, netball, orchestra and recorder group, speech and drama, quiz, video, craft and board games.
To broaden the girls' experience we organise a number of visits to places of interest, including the Mayor's Parlour and the Greater Manchester Police helicopter base and horse and dog training centre. Girls from Years 5 and 6 spend a weekend at a residential centre taking part in outdoor pursuits and IT activities, and trips are also arranged to France.
