Hello and welcome to the Oldham Hulme Grammar Schools' Parents' Association (OHGSPA) webpages!

OHGSPA represents all of the schools within the Hulme family. Our aim is to support the school wherever the need arises, as well as organising fun social events for parents and children of the schools. Through events such as the Christmas fair, the Christmas draw, duck races and dinner dances we raise money to fund additional items for the school.

Items purchased recently include: the new projector and screen in the Main Hall, photography equipment, new musical instruments, equipment for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme and support for the Young Enterprise scheme, which this year has seen a massive increase in the cost of registration for the ‘companies’ involved.

In addition to our fund raising activities, the Parents Association regularly provides the refreshments during the intervals at various school concerts and shows. This is something that is always appreciated by parents and staff and, especially for those with children in the senior schools; it’s a great way to meet other parents.

Please use this section of the website to keep up to date with the events and meetings that the committee arranges throughout the year. We are also very interested to receive your feedback. Is there a particular activity or fundraising event we could consider which we haven't yet done? Do you know of any ideas to help us raise funds for the children in the Hulme schools? If so, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the committee and we will be pleased to discuss with you. The next meeting of the PA is on Tuesday 23rd February 2010 at 7pm in the Sixth Form Common Room. All parents are welcome to attend.

However, if meetings aren't for you, don't worry, we would still like you to feel involved and we often require help and support at the various school functions.
