2008 Annual Golf Day

Friday 27th June 2008 saw 72 keen golfers head out once again for the Annual Oldham Hulme Grammar Schools Charity Golf Day. Unfortunately the Saddleworth weather was yet again not the best!! The rain stayed away for the majority of the day but come tea time there were many wet golfers making their way back to the Club House.
After a delicious dinner the presentations were made for the winners of the day.
1st prize with 84 points – Fineline Kitchens and Bedrooms – Mike Jackson, Giacomo Cavallino, Stuart Cox and Howard Mellor.
2nd Prize with 82 point – Birkdale Boys – Gerry Boon, Frew Craig, Roger Cox and David Dunn
3rd prize with 80 points – Stoneswood – Lee Tilley, Gary Torr, Dean Jagger and Geoff Daly
Nearest the pin – Paul Miller
Longest Drive – John Leutton
The winners took the trophy for the second year and have thrown the gauntlet down for another team to come and take the silverware away from them.
A good day and night were had by all that attended and the date has already been set for next year – Friday 26th June 2009 when hopefully for the first time the sun will shine!!
